Izithutha zothando

Umkhathazi brings a 12-track Maskandi album to the 2026 release calendar with Izithutha zothando. The project arrives on 22 September 2026, opening with “Iqonqela” before moving through a tracklist that includes solo cuts and selected collaborations.

The title track, “Izithutha zothando”, features Phindile Buthelezi and Lethi Buthelezi, giving the album one of its confirmed collaborative moments. Other songs on the release include “Imoto”, “I-content”, “Uthando lwebhinca” and “Angikwesabi ukufa”, keeping the focus on a broad run of original titles across the album.

Umkhathazi also links up with Imfezemnyama on “Desha”. The two featured tracks sit alongside a larger set of songs credited to Umkhathazi alone, including “Ngilwa nokhonkolo”, “Ngiza nebutho” and “Thula mntwana”. The tracklist therefore balances the album’s guest appearances with a substantial solo presence.

The second half continues with “Ushukela” before the album closes on “Inhlupheko yakithi”. With its 12-song length and Maskandi identity, Izithutha zothando gives listeners a full project to explore rather than a short release built around only a few tracks.
