Obaby Mama

Shanela puts a compact new Maskandi release on the table with Obaby Mama, a five-track EP arriving on 9 September 2026. The project keeps its focus tight, balancing three solo cuts with two collaborations featuring Nunu and Swidi wabantwana.

Inkomo opens the EP, followed by Ngingadlulela phambili. The title track, Obaby mama, takes the third slot and brings both guest artists into the tracklist before Shanela goes solo again on Konakele.

Nunu and Swidi wabantwana also appear on the closing track, Owesbili. Their presence on two songs gives the EP a clear collaborative thread, while Inkomo, Ngingadlulela phambili and Konakele remain credited solely to Shanela.

With five tracks and a straightforward running order, Obaby Mama is an easy release to take in from beginning to end. Maskandi followers can check out Shanela’s full EP and give particular attention to its title track and the closing collaboration.
